Set List – May 30, 2010

coffee-shop-study

It’s been a busy time lately, so I got a very late start on my set list for this Sunday.  The Lectionary readings for this week have several different themes running through them including the wisdom of God, enduring trials and suffering, the glory of God, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the revelation of the Holy Spirit, and the wonder and joy of knowing the the God who made the Universe not only knows us, but loves us deeply.

Here are the songs I have gathered this week:

  • God Of All Glory – Riddle
  • I Will Hold On – Briggs
  • How He Loves – McMillan
  • Full Attention – Riddle
  • Rain Down – Delirious

Have a wonderful Holiday weekend and great Sunday with God and His family tomorrow.

Video Set List – LOV Worship – July 26

I thought I’d get a little creative with my set list this week. I found some videos online of the songs. I really like the rough-qualiity, but awesome version of Holy God by Brian Doerksen himself. He’s just so good at leading and writing.

Your Love Never Fails is an amazing tune about God’s love despite our failings, and how he makes all things work together for our good. It’s a great turn by Chris McClarney that got launched into popularity by Jesus Culture. I’m really digging the new Jesus Culture stuff. We did “Your Won’t Relent” a couple of weeks ago, and it’s just a very powerful song. I threw in the video below just for kicks.

Here’s the set for July 26th at LOV:

1) God Of All Glory – Jeremy Riddle (Bb)
Sorry, no video…. :(

2) Your Love Never Fails – Chris McClarney (Bb)

3) Everlasting God (B)

4) Consuming Fire (G…most likely)

5) Holy God (B)

Possible songs for Sunday

I’m still hashing out a set list for Sunday. But what I am excited about is doing “Sing Your Praise” which is a song that Sheri and I collaborated on for “Fearless Now”. I’ll try to do it in the key of E, which should be interesting.

For some reason the song “Refiner’s Fire” has been rolling around inside my head. I think that one is on the list for sure.

Since Steve and Melisa are leading with part of our team at the Pomona Vineyard this week, it means I will finally get a chance to do “As It Is In Heaven”, which both of them have been hogging! :)

The other two slots are not “for sure” yet. Sweetly Broken, I Will Hold On, and Nothing But The Blood, are on the short list, but they just don’t feel right. I’ve got some work to do.

Live Oak Vineyard Set List – 7/6/08

Here’s the planned set list for tomorrow’s time of praise and worship at Live Oak Vineyard,

  1. Holy, Holy (Hughes) (D)
  2. Awesome Is The Lord Most High (Tomlin) (A)
  3. I See The Lord (McCoy/Park/VMUSA) (A)
  4. Breathe (Barnett/VMUSA) (G)
  5. How Great Is Our God (Tomlin) (G)

Scripture Readings for Proper 9/July 6:

  • Matthew 11:25-30
  • Zechariah 9:9-12
  • Romans 7:21-8:6

It has been a long time since we’ve done “I See The Lord”, but I love it. We are going to simplify “Breathe” even a little bit more than it is written and give people space to worship freely.

I hope to see you all there!
